Students from the Junior room took on the project of the school garden over the last few years. We choose plants and vegetables with sensory qualities i.e. plants which interesting textures, colours, scents, and vegetables. This is a work in progress and next year we might add wind chimes and items which appeal to the sense of hearing. We gave regular garden reports to keep the rest of the school up to date on our progress. We planted flowers such as Sunflowers, Marigolds and Narturtims which added a nice dash of colour and wonderful scents to the garden. We also harvested sunflower seeds at the end of their season. The children planted daffodil and tulip bulbs and were excited to see them come to life the following Spring. Our pumpkins were also very successful. We learned a lot from this project and hope to continue the work next year.
